In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Northumbria Police's dedicated HALO team organised an unforgettable engagement day at Easington Lane Primary School on Tuesday, April 29.
With the help of partners, officers from the HALO team worked tirelessly to secure funding and brought together various partners to make this day possible.

Originally rolled out to help rejuvenate the area and support the communities who live there, the HALO project has gone from strength to strength over the past three years.
Officers from the Force's mounted, dog and drone units attended giving the pupils the opportunity to learn more about the tools the Force uses to keep members of the public safe. The activity also included a climbing wall, petting zoo and a falconry display.

Inspector Graham Cox, of Sunderland's Neighbourhood Policing team, said: "A huge part of our role as Neighbourhood police officers is to build trust and confidence with members of the public.
"This can only be done by ensuring we're visible in the heart of the community.
"Engagement days such as this really give us the opportunity to speak to youngsters and explain to them what we do and why we do it – and most importantly, how we keep them safe."
Louise Harbisher, Deputy Headteacher of Easington Lane Primary School reflected on the day: "I can't thank the HALO team enough for delivering the day at our school.
"The positivity it has created in shifting the view of our children towards the local police has been invaluable.
"There is a real buzz around school this morning and we have children speaking about how 'cool, funny and kind' our neighbourhood cops are.
"Northumbria Police's support of the school has been unwavering and the advice taken on board, regarding our children and families, has created a strong partnership with our school which we are extremely grateful for."
Northumbria Police's Neighbourhood policing team play a crucial role in creating safer, more connected communities.
Events like this give officers the opportunity to leave a positive impact on the pupils, showing that policing is not just about enforcement – but also about providing member of the public with support and awareness.
Northumbria Police are set to boost community policing presence by recruiting an additional 95 police officers, 27 PCSOs and 30 Specials over the next year.
