A property found to be linked to anti-social behaviour and drug-related crime in Gateshead has been served with a closure order.
After receiving complaints from members of the public, Gateshead East Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) launched an investigation into activity at the house on Aycliffe Place in the Springwell area.

An investigation by officers connected a range of crimes to the property including anti-social behaviour, drugs supply, drugs use and serious knife crime.
Officers teamed up with representatives from Gateshead Council to use civil legislation powers to prevent further issues and a closure order was granted on Thursday, April 24 at Newcastle Magistrates Court.
Officers have since returned to the address and boarded it up.
The closure order prevents anyone from entering the property for three months except from employees and agents of the landlord, members of the council or the emergency services.
Anyone who accesses the property unlawfully will be arrested and put before court.
Sergeant Andy Hyde of Northumbria Police said: “Firstly, thank you to the local community for your patience whilst we carried out investigations following your reports.
“It’s thanks to you in providing the initial information that we have been able to put a stop to this type of criminality at this address.
“Anti-social behaviour, drugs and knife crime have no place in our communities, and those living nearby should not have to put up with it.
He added: “We will continue to work with local partners to ensure we keep our communities safe.
“If you have any concerns about suspicious behaviour in your local area, please speak to us. We’re here to help.”
Members of the public who have information about suspected criminality should get in touch with Northumbria Police by sending a direct message on social media, visiting the live chat on the Force website or by going to the ‘Report’ section of the website.
For those unable to contact police this way, call 101.
In an emergency, or if a crime is taking place, always call 999.
